Ok I have a system thats used for dialup. I'm getting an error code 633. I remember certain smart phone software could cause this but no such software in on this computer. I tried some things from the Microsoft site and its still there. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling and still I get the error code.

Any ideas guys?

If possible, try moving the modem to a different PCI slot. If that doesn't do it, it's probably bad. Most modems today use "soft", or virtual ports, and when the modem goes bad, this error often comes up.

Jeez, that brought back a lot of memories. Do you know how many times this "trick" saved my ass...:p

I actually once had a server that would not connect to a wired network out of nowhere. I was troubleshooting it for 3 days. Checking the settings, the OS, the memory, the hard drive, the motherboard, the PSU, rolling back backups...then one day I went to strip the entire server down, pulled out the modem (which was never in use) and the server went back online
