Well this is a new one for me...
Windows Product Activation
A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for the computer. Error Code: 0x80070002
Happened after i ran a SFC /scannow on an XP system that was having an intermittent restart issue
I read a fix for this from microsoft's site to delete
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers
but those keys don't exist
Also looked in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices to set the drive letter but it looked ok to me
Also read another post saying to register the following dll's
regsvr32 licwmi.dll
regsvr32 regwizc.dll
regsvr32 licdll.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
They all registered successfully but that didn't make a difference.
Any ideas why SFC would break Windows?? I had previously run malware and virus scans and all were clean, so that doesnt seem to be an issue.
