Employer wants to watch employee's screen

Because you can't just fire people without evidence in most Western countries. Who says the company is full of them? You might trust 99% of staff but 1 or 2 you're not sure of.

My comment was just a rhetorical statement. I am not saying that it is a fact that the company we are talking about has nothing but untrustworthy employees. Either way, there are better ways of handling this situation than actually sitting there and watching the employees screen all day.

very true, thats why everywhere should be a right to work state (country) like Virginia is, there are no legal issues with monitoring employee activities on premise (except restroom obviously) especially on a computer, as it is COMPANY PROPERTY the employee has no rights on it. Also, Right to Work is also nicknamed Right to hire, right to fire meaning you need NO reason to fire someone (however if it is for no reason, and a reason can be boss stating they were on facebook too much with very little proof, the employee is eligible unemployment)

edit:: Audio recording is, however, highly illegal in Virginia unless both parties are CLEARLY notified of the recording. Ring any bells with Linda Tripp?

EBlaster is pretty good for this type of monitoring. Creates an actual log which is good for building a case.
