EIDE to SATA

It seems that stores don't even sell EIDE drives any more. Do they? Or do people just use adapters inside machines? Like this one....

PATA drives have become a limitation with 133MB/s transfer speed and 750GB max capacity compared to SATA 3 at 2TB and 600MB/s data rate. Most modern mobos only have 1 IDE port now. SATA cables don't block case air flow like 40/80pin IDE cables. Blu-Ray drives are SATA only. It appears PATA is on it's last leg along with PCI and AGP.

I could be wrong, but I suspect that PATA will still be around longer than we think in a limited form. Kinda like FDD which kept hanging on long after it ceased to really have a purpose.

Clearly you can buy PATA drives all over the net.

I've used the PATA/SATA converters and they work fine.
