Dropbox and office 365 issue

Client has dropbox and is using office 365 home/family with it, he has just upgraded to dropbox business advanced and now he can't edit his excel or word as he was able to before, he has the option to open in web but then it tells him he needs to use a commercial version of office, he says hes sharing office 365 home/family with his business partner and says she can just click and edit it like they were doing before the upgrade (I am waiting to teamviewer in to her system to see if that's true) he does have the option to open with excel from the Open drop down list but then has to select save as and choose the dropbox location and overwrite the file where as before he could just click on it, edit it and save it all within dropbox. I believe the solution is he needs to upgrade his office to a commercial license but seeing if anyone knows another way?
