I know a little but this has me stumped. I formatted my computer it's a dell GX520 . I went to reinstall windows xp and now I get
" Drive 0 Not Found: ATA, SATA-0
Strike the F1 Key To Continue Or F2 to run setup "

Now it will not let me reinstall because windows xp setup doesn't see any hard drives.

It has a SATA drive in it and it's connected. The SATA cable is good but I did try a new cable and I still get this error. In the bios I have sata active. I have also connected another sata drive and I get the same thing and that drive works fine in another computer.
This computer was working fine as far as booting goes. I just wanted to format it To clean it out so I know the computer is in fine working order. But I cannot get pass this issue right now. HELP. LOL

If you have in the BIOS the SATA setting to turn off SATA native mode...Do it. Then try to install windows. Either that, or you need the SATA drivers when Windows loads and asks if you would like to install 3rd party drivers.
