Ive decided to offer iPhone repair work since Ive done a lot of them for friends and have come out great. The process is actually very simple as you just replace certain parts. well not that simple but definitely no where near as difficult as fixing some computers.

Also i'm in a very good spot as looking at Google and the yellow pages in an area that has 320,000 people i would be the only one to be doing this and the nearest one would be 60 miles away outside the city.

But I need a good supplier that can send me parts for the 3g and iPhone 4

any one have any ideas where i could get screens and boards?

Every time I have quoted a job its always to high. There are to many people charging $15 labor to replace a screen and I will not work that cheap.

There is an old article on this site that discusses iPod repair, and I imagine some of the parts suppliers in there might also carry iPhone parts as well.

ifixit are a huge rip. Ive done my home work and ebay is seriously the cheapest find a good supplier and your set.

I know this is a fairly old thread, but we recently started offering iPhone/iPad repair. Our supplier is www.qualityrepairparts.com. They are based out of Miami, have great prices, excellent customer service and super fast shipping! They get my vote. Ebay is too risky, we have had way too many cheap and non-working parts come in through there....it's a hit and miss.

I woudl be very carefull doign iPhone repairs. Homeland Security is raiding shops who do so. Looks like more raids planned. We have dropped all such business. It always seemed to take away from my more profitable computer repair anyway.

To use a familiar UK phrase (inadvisably) said to our police "don't you guys have anything better to do?"

If you are looking at going deeper than the screen, then I got nothing for you. I won't dive that deep, not worth it. You get the tools with most purchases that are needed for the device, and a great warranty as well. I've only had two bad screens from them, and they sent me replacements immediately.

Just throwing this one out there for ya

How are you guys making money on iPhone 5 repairs? Replacement screens are close to $200, but a swap for a refurbished one at the apple store is $229.

Some of my clients have gotten the refurbished iPhone's and have brought them to me within a few days of the purchase saying the screen doesn't work anymore. It rings, makes noises, but nothing on the screen. They are usually not happy, and apple has given them the "we don't care, buy a new one" response. So I think it comes down to how apple has treated them and their experience.

I haven't been offering the iPhone 5 for that reason, but prices have just come down to the $160 range, so I might start offering it soon.

I believe the replacement phones from the Apple Store carry a 90 day warranty, so that doesn't make sense.

Not sure about the ones from the carriers, though. I think ATT gets their refurbs from a third party.

Does anyone know of any other instance of a raid? Every story I can find refers to this one action in Florida. Nothing since and no follow up on these raids on charges, trials or anything else.
