Doctor who seems to be getting really bad

I am actually catching up with Friday and Saturdays Live PD as I type.
When it is DVR'd I can skip the commercials.

As bad as it sounds I like seeing the advertisements. I think it's educational to see what gets served up by the sponsors. Of course most are really bad. But lately if seen a couple of good ones from GEICO.

You can actually have a drinking game watching. Take a shot each time they pull over someone with no license, registration or insurance.
Bonus, take 2 shots when they find drugs or run when pulled over.
Guarantee you will be wasted by the mid of the 2nd hour.

Drinking games? Lol!!!! I remember one from my misspent youth in college. Well at least the name. Cardinal Puff

I liked the Dr. Who with the Doctor who saved Rose and constantly defeated the Daleks :

Eccleston, right?

That was when I started watching Doctor Who (for the second time). I continued watching when they switched to David Tennant (who I was initially unsure about but actually preferred once he'd settled into the role) and throughout the Matt Smith era. At Peter Capaldi they lost me. I watched maybe 2 or 3 episodes before I stopped watching. He just didn't seem to fit into the part and his acting was quite poor IMO.

The 'first' time I watched Doctor Who was as a kid, in the Tom Baker days. He will always be the 'real' Doctor in my mind. I have to say I was never a big fan of the show even back then though. I would watch it when it was on TV if I had nothing better to do, but I always found the whole low-budget sets, props and acting to be laughably fake. But that in itself kinda made it funny to watch of course.

They were talking about re-booting Blakes 7 this is another sci-fi i really liked besides the original lost in space and the time tunnel.

The whole PC thing is getting really out of whack.. .need a Female Protagonist... need a black, asian/hispanic/indian person, an old dude....ya.. there we go.. let's get the Doctor to hang with this lot.

Give me David Tennant any day. I stopped watching the season about 4 episodes in last year... fail bus.

Interesting fact millennials don't watch tv so at this rate in another 10 years tv is done everything will be streaming i talked to all my nieces and nephews this christmas none of them watch tv or go to the movies.
That is like 14 of them in total i talked to all of them they all say there is nothing interesting to watch on tv they all say they watch videos on YouTube or Facebook and that's about it.

With poor ratings on Doctor Who it will be cancelled again that last episode was horrible i grew up with serials and Doctor Who was a serial show now they try to cram a whole story in 30mins and it just not the same supporting actors need a decent back story otherwise you don't know anything about them nor care what happens to them.

Same here. It was broadcast on PBS here. I also watched the original Tomorrow People and Space 1999.
Wow, yeah, I'd forgotten about the Tomorrow People! I didn't watch that show much but I LOVED Space 1999. I had a few Space 1999 toys and jigsaws .... might even still have some of them somewhere I think ...

Funny to think that Space 1999 depicted a moonbase (called 'Moonbase Alpha'), something that may become a reality within a decade. Had they called the show Space 2029, it might have been quite prophetic.

I really wanted a Blakes 7 reboot but it seems it will never happen at this rate another old sci-fi it was made in Canada on a shoe string budget but was interesting could make a good re-boot with a good budget The Star Lost.

I think the TV licence and the BBC are living on borrowed time now. It is bizarre that we're expected to pay to watch the BBC's channels when there are so many to choose from these days, not to mention all of the online streaming options.

I think the end is nigh ...

BBC faces 'dangerous moment' after Tony Hall's departure
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2020/jan/20/bbc-faces-dangerous-moment-after-tony-halls-departure

The BBC was warned on Monday that it is facing a “dangerous moment” as Conservative MPs seized on the departure of director general Tony Hall to call for an overhaul of its funding model and an end to the licence fee.

John Whittingdale, the former culture secretary, led calls for a debate on the BBC’s funding model to start as soon as its mid-term review in 2022, arguing that Hall’s replacement would have to consider how the broadcaster can compete in the Netflix era.

Newest Doctor Who had 2 doctors from 2 different time periods in same time line most of his regeneration's said it was VERY dangerous the story breaks the laws of time travel and was poorly written.

I didn't realise we had time travel yet, let alone 'laws'.

Did I miss a new Musk innovation?

:p;)

Time lord laws and the tardis is programmed to prevent this unless somehow they changed it according to past doctors and stories.
According to the show she is the next doctor in line was verified in an interview so they have to cram her somewhere:
Past Doctor: between Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee
Past Doctor: pre-William Hartnell
