How do you distribute files to multiple client sites?

Like everyone, I have a bunch of tools, utilities & files I need; Fabs, D7, a folder of Ninite installers, MS Office installers, etc. and I keep those on a couple USB disks that are always with me, and I create a directory on all my clients' servers to store & access these files when I'm on their LAN.

It's a hassle to keep these updated, since when I make a change to a D7 config, add a new file, etc, I now have to copy / upload that to all my clients.....

I was thinking of setting up something like DropBox; BT Sync (which is free & more secure) or similar, loading it onto my servers....but is that a bad idea?

How do you guys manage situations like this?

Thanks

My preference is to host my own file sharing. I use ownCloud. But like most services like that you can setup up separate accounts so each site has their own login and folder. Personally I do not put in a permanent link, I just connect when I need to update something.

TapTech: I can also transfer files via Teamviewer / Take Control, but it's extremely inefficient to have to do this manually. I'm wanting something like a DropBox where I install on each client server, make whatever changes I need to the files & it gets synced to all of my devices.

There are lots of solutions like this; SugarSync, DropBox, BTSync, etc.....I guess I should just go ahead & use one of those, huh?

I've heard of OwnCloud; but again, doesn't that require you to manually download the files to each client server?

No. It operates just like Dropbox and others. You install an app on the target machine(s) and it creates the linked folder which is synced to the server based on the credentials provided. Functions on smart phones/tablets as well. No Windoze Phone though.
