Did Staples lower prices on their Easytech services?

Hello all. I am sitting here doing some competitive pricing analysis to include as part of my business plan. I am looking at Easytech Pricing on the Staples website and it appears to me that they have lowered their prices. I remember looking at their pricing a few months back and it was almost identical to Geek Squad pricing. What I found today is a bit unnerving. Example 1: Easytech price for an in-home OS install/upgrade $79.99! Geek Squad's price for this is $229.99! Example 2: Easytech in-store virus removal price is $99.99. Geeks Squad's price for this is literally double that ($199.99). I am all but positive that Easytech prices were not this low when I looked a few months ago. Am I crazy? It bothers me to see Staples offering these (and more) services at the same price or even lower than what I would charge. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I wish that were the case in my area. O-Max/Staples & the others always have a line of folks waiting at that service desk to get their pc's worked on...err I mean "hacked up".

I was in Staples and they are offering a "PC Tune Up+" for $9.99.

I don't know many people who will trust the Staples cashier to fix his computer. And like Richmond said, no one knows they even offer these services.

Surprising since they don't do any widespread advertising like GS does. Looks like 99% of people out there don't even know YOU offer these services.

If you really want to know how good their services are then ask them what they pay their techs.

They don't pay them squat because in most cases they hook the system up, connect it to the internet and then make a call to the folks at support.com who then remote in and actually do all the work. Other than some basic memory installs and such I don't believe (and I could be wrong) they do too much in store any more. Least that's what I gather from talking to one of the ET's I know in my town.
