Hey everyone,

Just wanted some tips on designing a business logo. I have searched high and low online for computer repair logos and cannot find any. My question is, where can I get some, also what would you recommend for a good logo design program, online or software based?

Thanks.
Chris

Your Logo

Just an opinion but...If you are wanting a serious logo and if your not a graphic artist or work in a related field, please consider having a professional logo designed for you. I say this because that simple little logo is who you are. It is your entire company to the quick passer by. I never realized how critical it is until I started forming my company.

The logo is everywhere and customers will judge you by your logo. I know it's crazy but it's so true. It's on my uniforms, hats, jackets, cofee mugs, business cards, post cards, brochures, banners, pens, stationary, even my mouse pad.

Your logo will be a huge part of your business so get it done by a professional and I promise you won't regret it.

I'm clueless on this sort of thing, I think you either have vision or you don't. On my travels I find techie people don't make the best artistic people. My last two or three logos have been designed by a really cheap place. You can get 4 or 5 versions of a logo for next to nothing and for I think it was about £40 -£50 you get an Illustrator version which you can tweak yourself. They are a www.gotlogos.com, have a look at their previous work. You just send them the details of what you are about and if you have a website send them a link(for the colours you use) and they will do you a good logo in about a week.

Try seanconway.com/499 he will design you from the ground up pretty much with a domain name registure and a year of hosting. I have sent a handfull of clients to him and for the price they seem very very happy.

And if you want easy grab up logo design studio its like 30$ or go pick up printshop prop publisher that's like 80$, has all you design needs from logos to flyers to business cards.

Find a local and talented graphic artist and pay them. I wouldn't skimp on the logo...it is the "face" of your company. It's the first thing most people will see and associate with your business.

My bad its seanmconway.com/499 tell him corbin sent you his way he gos the extra mile as is, but he will go extra extra miles when its a strong client I send.

Expensive but good I guess

Here is where I got my logo done. In my opinion they are way too expensive and I got sucked into their B.S. "the guy who does the History channel, Advil, etc.. crap. http://www.logomagic.com

I say this to you so you can stay away from them lol. Unless you have 370.00 dollars for one logo.

I was considering changing mine to something professionally designed from someone else's vision/experience. I was going to do this before I had shirts screen printed/embroidered, the business signage done, etc. However, my wife made an interesting point. She said to wait until our ad goes into the yellow pages. With more work comes more money, and at that point I can always more easily afford to change the image if need be. Some may think it'd be a waste of the current materials, but:

  • If the logo is similar, they could still be used
  • I could just use the old items anyway (hats, shirts)
  • The data would still be accurate - so is it really a big deal?

I find that I can't continue to obsess over such things forever and a day as I used to. Doing so, I never have time to put my energies into more fruitful endeavors.

I got mine done by logobylogo. Very cheap.

Their first attempts were terrible - stock icons + stock computerish writing. I had to go back many times to push them in the right direction. But I'm happy with the final result.

I've been looking at 99Designs.com I found out about it thru a search on technibble. it seems like a different way to get logo, websites and what not designed. kinda like a bounty for the best way to go. I've been thinking about creating a project there to see if anyone can create a logo for me I would like but still havent tried it yet
