What are some recommendations for PROVEN RELIABLE BY YOU USING IT data recovery software?

I'm not necessarily looking for free, but if I'm going to spend money, this better be the only piece of recovery software I ever need.

Most people use either GetDataBack or R-Studio. Personally I prefer R-Studio, but that's just personal preference. I've also used TestDisk/PhotoRec in the past with great success, as well as ddrescue.

If you're serious about hard drive data recovery then you should learn how to use ddrescue - it's a linux tool to salvage data off a dying drive, and it works very well.

We mostly use Testdisk/Photorec. However, we've had successes and failures with every piece of software out there. There is NO single piece of software that will perform without failure each and every time, in any category. Example: Most of us here use Windows daily. Would it pass the requirements stated in your question?

I guess it would depend on the data recovery situation for me. I use different ones for different situations, and when one doesn't work then I try another. I use R-Studio, Virtual Lab, Testdisk\PhotoRec, Acronis True Image, Unstoppable copier, ddrescue, etc..

Same here, I use whatever I think is suited to the occasion.

As previously mentioned, there isnt a single piece of software that fits all.
