Hi I would like to know a better way than quickbooks to track customer inventory. The reason I am asking is because I order a lot of parts for my customers that I don’t keep in sock. Is there a program that could help me track this information? I use excel right I was just looking for something better.

Do you use Quickbooks to track the items you DO keep in stock? I have used Quickbooks for years to track inventory, and have recently realized that I would be better off tracking the normal stock items as inventory, and the stuff that is NOT normally stocked as Non-Inventory items.

I have also recently purchased PCRT (PC-Repair Tracker) and am experimenting with using their features, but I'm not sure it's going to replace Quickbooks.

So - bottom line I don't have a better option, except possibly changing how you use QB - at least that's what I'm trying to do differently.

Thanks Brian I did not know about QB Non-Inventory that's what I was looking for. I order a lot of temporary Inventory for my customers.

I created a NONINVENTORY item in QB and created a price of zero. I can then modify the description, quantity, and price as needed. Easy peasy.

I know you said other than Quickbooks but I do the same as above, I have a Non-stock part and I just update each item with a detailed description of the item.
