dos anyone use a cordless screwdriver to take apart computers and laptops? was thinking about buying one didnt no what brand was best to buy. thanks

I personally can't stand the pencil style cordless drivers, much prefer the drill style with a full grip. I bought a Dewalt DCF610S2 and find it to be the best I've ever used. Well worth the money given how longs its lasted, strong enough to double as a light-duty drill, comes with two batteries, and best of all, it stands upright. I don't know why, but I hate laying something like this down on its side haha.

EDIT: Oh, and there's a lot of crap phillips bits out there. I went through a ton of them until I bought these: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A8QDM1A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

And since I have not even gone through one single bit out of the 10 it comes with. They're very precise fit and very, very durable.

I have a regular construction style 18v DeWalt drill, it never touches a computer but is sure useful for installing network racks and other equipment. In my "to go" back, I keep a really flimsy little Black & Decker cordless drill. It's really useful for putting sheetrock anchors in, you can swizzle it from pistol grip to straight, and most of all, it can be charged via USB. That is extremely helpful as I can just plug it into the car to charge without any extra cables.

I've been debating whether or not to get a cordless screwdriver for a while but I've feared stripping my clients screws. Has anyone had problems with that?

As long as you test the torque of the settings on the screw driver and learn how tight the different clutch settings are you will be fine. Just be sure to always have it on the right setting.

Had problems on when using cheap bits. Once I got the Wera bits it's been fine. With the driver I linked to, having it on torque setting 1 or 2 is perfect.

I'm using 3x Ryobi Tek4 4V screwdrivers with a spare battery that gets charged/rotated about once a week.

Only using it on desktop computers though, I still do laptops by hand because it's too easy to leave some marks on the tiny black screws with an electric screwdriver. Maybe I'm too perfectionist.

Cordless screw driver, that sounds a rechargable screwdriver to me.
I have used some different kinds in the past and found the one with the removable (not rechargeable type) more convenient!

If we work in shop or at home, we can easily get to the power source, and that of course no problem to use the corded edition, at least I do not mind to use that.

I believed the cordless screwdriver is the best to use when we are on-the-go or helping friends or clients with their onsite computers.
Using the cordless screwdriver will be a great help.
But the rechargeble cordless screw driver comes with a disadvantage is that once the power is running out, we have to wait for some time to charge that again or carrying another charged battery that may be a little bulky and heavy.
The cordless screw driver I used was the one that uses the standard dry cell battery available in any local store.
That allows us to replace the battery once we need to use the screwdriver. No wait time for charging the battery.

Hope this helps.

I agree, but have had NO luck finding one with a decent clutch and I think that is a necessity. Recommendations?

Thanks
