This is inb4 "use the search function"

I've read everything there is on this forum about it. I was wondering what the new businesses use for a current small amount of customers for invoicing / workorders / contact managers.

I bought the Computer Business Kit and love it and if there's a way to integrate into a nice program which can Sync for another employee it'd be great.

Let me know what you guys use and what you think of it

edit: i also realize that this should be in programs section. I dont know why I wasn't in it when I posted this. ugh.

CommitCRM can print your repair order with order totals. If you need to keep track of accounts receivable then it has a quickbooks plugin that is sold separately. I do not use the quickbooks plugin though, but some will need it..

Is it worth the 80$ that it costs? Seems a little high but I guess compared to others its not really...

Is hard to say what $80 worth for everybody.
For some is just over one hour of labor.....

For me personally is worth more than that. I print/email professional invoices, service reports and history, and keeps me organized.

Is shareware. Download it and give it a try.

WE use quickbooks invoice manager 2008, but as I have said in other posts, I don't like the lack of upgrade to a better version of quickbooks, without having to manually import all of your data again. I am looking into commitCRM as I have seen and hread great things about it. This also means that I am going to have to do something different for CC processing, which kind of stinks, but when I make the move, I just want it to be permanent.

CommitCRM really looks promising but for now since I have a small amount of customers I'll stick with something easy and free for now. Might just stick to paper filing and a free contact manager of some sorts. Ill try out the free ones suggested and will get back

I am using Express Invoice as suggested but the only thing I would like to know is where the data is stored so I can share it across the web to another employee...I know there's local web access but the forums dont really explain how to get another across the web

Click help and select web access and it explains more.

I have

You might give Microsoft Accounting Express a try. It's free but only available for US and UK.

I haven't used it so I can't say anything good or bad about it.

I think it's OK. Some things work a little weird on it, such as if you add something to the list of items that you sell or resell, depending on which you choose (checkbox), it may not show up in a list for adding to all invoices. Also, the templates are a little difficult to get to print just right, but for FREE, I work around any issues, plus with more time I know I can figure out work-arounds for anything.

I'm currently using Volutive. It has a simple customer database & invoicing features, but I'm looking for something more. Also the fact that Volutive is no longer being developed is really driving me away. I need something that's relatively easy to use & quick.

So far I've evaluated Commit and TS Man. Commit can't create invoices on its own and you need a $150 add-on and a copy of Quickbooks to do so - too much of a pain and I hate Quickbooks. TS man doesn't let you see total cost before creating an invoice, and has numerous other quirks (I've run into a few bugs.) I'm still looking for the perfect solution

I looked at their forum, and there are 4 requests for viewing the totals (previewing the invoice). I didn't ask as to when that feature will be made available.
There is also talk about a point of sale (POS) to be released soon.
Wonder how much would cost though. Without the need of Quickbooks to have invoicing and point of sales plus all the other the other features would be nice.

About the bugs, I don't know about you, but I find it to be quite all right, although a bit complicated for some. Updates and fixes are being released very often.

If you use the estimate feature of TS man you can see the running total by clicking the estimate report button. Just enter everything in as an estimate until the job is complete. Once you click Ok to proceed it will transfer everything to the task box and you just need to confirm the amounts and hours.
