Completely redesigned website - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...

Hey all ;)

I recently completely redesigned my website and decided to go Wordpress. I hired two different web designers previously and had about 3 different designs. This time I decided to just spend the time and do it myself. I've never used wordpress, nor really heard about it much from a business website point of view. Originally, I was really under the impression it was only for blogging. Boy was I wrong!

Please let me know the good, bad, and ugly! I am very open to constructive criticism and would greatly appreciate it :)

Your site is one of the best computer repair sites I've seen in a long time. I would give it a 10 out of 10.

Usually I look at sites and think "very nice" or "looks great" but yours is actually pretty amazing looking. Outstanding use of graphics and content on the entire thing.

I really like the design, but I'd throw more information on the front page. You have a lot of rotating images, but it's sparse on text, which could be bad for customers who are still on dial up, or having to use a smartphone to browse.

Thanks for the heads up - I do agree that there isn't enough text on the front page - but I felt that it's already big enough? Maybe I should look into creating a mobile site to redirect customers to?

You're services menu is pretty long, and could be overwhelming for some customers. I like you level 1, level 2 and level 3 structure on the rates page, see if you can incorporate that into the services menu.

I was actually thinking about getting rid of that Services page completely and having it show the "Rates" page when it's clicked. I'll need to think about that one :) Thanks!

I'm not sure about the Partners menu, it just seems odd.

Odd? Got some more information regarding this one?

Move your Blog to the right, make your contacting information more important than the blog, as you're probably only using the blog for SEO.

I followed the normal sequence of a navigation panel, and figured that the Contact Us page belonged on the end. Wouldn't it look weird to have a contact us in the middle of the navigation?

Contact Us page, make your phone number in text as well, for customers with dial up or using smart phones. Make it a major part of the page, so it's easily found.

Very great catch! I changed it and added my phone number ;)

I'd also move the service area map to the front page.

I have a rotating banner that links to the service area map - it's too big to place it on the front page - but I linked to it in the text section. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

If you can, move the customer reviews to the side, or up higher. Use the reviews to your advantage for selling yourself, don't make it the last on the page.

I moved the testimonials up the page right below the text. The only problem with this is it drops my other three pictures further down the page which links to my services. Maybe I should get rid of it completely since I have a rotating image that links to my customer reviews?

Thanks for all the input Jason!

Not a problem Jeff! :D

The Partner's tab just didn't make sense to me, especially when it had to do with software.

I think Customer Reviews are a great asset to have, and I think it looks fine where you have it.

Maybe use the google maps image as the image for the rotating banner, I didn't know it linked to that image.

Jeff has done an excellent job with his website! The improvements he made with his website's loading time and speed are truly amazing. I'm sure that there was a lot of learning and hard work that was put in, and he achieved great results because of that. Nice work! :)

Wow, that's a bold statement! Thank you!

Coming from you, that means a lot to me. Thanks! :D

There nothing else to say..... very professional. I like it

Thanks!

I think it looks very professional. After a quick glance over the only thing I would change if I were you would be to capitalize the text under your tabs at the top. Great job!:)

You know, originally I did have them capitalized, but it seemed to compete with the actual headings in the navigation so I changed them to be lower case. I changed them back to caps a little while ago and again it seemed to compete, so I changed them back to lower case again, lol. Thanks for the input though :)
