Hey guys I have windows 7 home pre 64 bit and I decided to use ghost boot disk to create an image of my hard drive in the event anything happen to my hard drive I would have a backup. So am testing out the image I just made and it is not working properly. I cannot access any folders like my computer and cannot get into control panel. It is also telling me that my windows version might not be genuine and I cannot even get to the control panel to type in my cd key any idea what I did wrong?

hey guys just recently i scan my computer for infections and there were some so i got ride of it then rebooted and it is not booting up. I then proceeded to backup the information but its asking me to reformat the drive! how can i get my information off of the drive that is asking to be reformatted?

That's two threads in the last 4 months about your own computer. And none about anybody else's.
This, as it was in June, is a forum for computer repair professionals, not those having difficulty with their own machines.

That wasn't very friendly...

It seems to me that he is testing a cloning utility, and yea he may be testing it on his own machine but who doesn't do that? If I had a problem like that I would much rather have it happen on my equipment and ask for help, that way if it did happen on a clients computer I would know how to fix it...

Also, yes this forum is for computer repair professionals, and as computer repair professionals I would think you guys would be a bit more helpful when another tech has an issue with software or a utility.

EDIT: Removed my comment.

My apologies to the OP, who I hope will participate more fully in these forums as a Tech.

You might want to review the forum rules, new guy. This is NOT an end-user help forum but one for repair professionals. I'm not here to be this guy's friend. Someone who comes here 4 months apart only with problems on his own computer? There's a problme there alright.

Fine, you win. Good job.

You weren't around here when end users regularly posted.
It completely messed up the forums and many techs just left.
There's a reason for the rules - end users have hundreds of good forums they can use - we have one and we're active in protecting it. We would be delighted if, as a technician, you would join us in that.

I completely understand that, I do. However, as a tech I test out all my tools on my own equipment. If I have a problem with those tools I feel I would be able to come here and ask. But I do understand that people come on this forum and constantly ask for help about their own stuff and thats not good. Maybe I jumped to quickly to defend this guy. I apologize.

Man look I deleted my previous comment so you guys would drop this but I have been in business for 2 years I was testing cloning so I can add it as an option for my clients in my contracts. it works fine on xp but not 7 so dont worry about. I thought in my profile it gave info about me I guess not thank you anyway. Oh and only reason why i tried so hard back then with the hard drive that was asking to be formatted is because there was important information that belong to one of my clients. So if you guys want to get technical it was for my client. I always have a back up of my back up so my information is always fine.

This speaks for itself.
