I did a clean install windows 7 on Generic desktop computer
I have a card reader on front panel of computer that accepts various cards SD etc.
When computer had Vista there was 4 drive letters removable disk showing in explorer, with win 7 it is not recognized
I thought since its hardware it would pick up
I did'nt change anything in bios

It sounds like you need to install the card reader's Windows 7 driver.

Yes I think your right its probably a specail card reader
I will ask owner if he has software for it, but chances are he wont have a clue
this is a new one to me

Does it only show a drive when a card is inserted like on our tosh laptops? Anything in disk management simillarly or does it need drive letter asigning? Any updated drivers available for motherbaord?

Its part of a custom case I will see if he has a disk that came with case
In disk management it assigns drive letters but does not show in explorer

Any exclamation marks agains any devices in Computer Management?

Anything listed in Disk Management as a removeable drive?

Have you tried outting in an SD card to see if the drive appears when one is detected?

When I go to computer management I can see them

If you can see them in Computer Mgmt and they have drive letters assigned then their display might be being supressed in Computer.

Try opening Windows Explorer, then click tools -> folder options -> view and uncheck "Hide empty drives in the Computer folder".
