I've never had any issues setting up my Gmail account to receive alerts from various devices; Cobian backup, ReadyNAS, etc.
Clearly Google has recently made changes to increase security & I'm no longer able to do so; I get failure error messages. I was finally able to get cobian working by generating an app-specific password for that one device, but I definitely do NOT want to do this for dozens of different devices, for obvious reasons. Heck, even for my iPad, iPhone, etc. it's a headache & hassle.
I even tried creating a separate gmail account specifically for receiving these alerts in the hopes that I could decrease some of the security settings so that I wouldn't run into this same problem, but no luck.
What's the trick to using Gmails POP servers?
Thanks
