Can you change the calendar you want to use when creating an event in Outlook?

I personally use gmail for most of my stuff and when I create an event there is a drop down that will automatically select my primary default calendar for the event but I can click the drop down and easily change it to a different calendar.

In Outlook the only way I've found to create an event is to click the correct calendar then click new appointment OR double click the day you want the event to occur in the correct calendar OR if you create the event in the wrong calendar you have to drag the event into the correct calendar.

Is there any way in the new appointment window to change the calendar you want to add the event to?

This purpose behind this is that if you create an event and modify it and add notes etc, then after you realize that you were putting it in the incorrect calendar, this issue may occur when you have multiple calendars overlayed on top of each other.

Do you want it to sync with your Google account and phone? If so, you need a 3rd party app. If not, create a new PST and add a calendar for that and add to the folder list. It should give you an option for that calendar.

I just tested it and I don't think it will work under the Gmail folder list. But my PST test cal did work, so you need to be in that calendar for appts.

I'm sorry that I mentioned Gmail that has nothing to do with this question. I used it as an example based on what I personally do. If I make an event I can click the dropdown and change the calendar.

This question is EXCLUSIVE to Outlook. The short question is. If I create an event, initially under the wrong calendar, and I realize it as I'm making the event, can I change it within the appointment dialog box easily.

Creating an event and dragging it to another calendar is pretty dumb.

My Gmail account is linked to my business calendar and I also have a family calendar that me and my wife share, I can make an event then at the very last moment change that event to my family calendar from my personal business calendar.

LOL!!! That's actually on my iMac. About the only thing I use the iPhone for, besides making calls, is maps and reading emails and SMS. I absolutely had that dinky screen and KB.

iMac and and iPhone, Mark! Do you realize what you are missing out on!!!!!

My Wife has an iPhone and I cannot believe the restrictions on those phones.

The thing I like about iPhones is that they are all uniform though. Add email to it is so easy, Settings > Passwords & accounts > Add account > Microsoft exchange

And everyone has them.

There is no uniformity in android which is kinda a bummer.

What you seek is indeed in there. Testing on my computer, it is there after you've made/saved an appointment, and it is present during the creation of an appointment after starting in the wrong calendar yet before you've saved.

You can open up the appointment, and do File...Info...and there is the "Move To" drop down menu to click....where you can select your quick shortcuts, and usually will have to hit the "other folder" button to have the mini Outlook view of all folders from which you can select your other calendars if they aren't in the shortcut view.

I've crossed over to the other Dark Side. Since I needed a local number I picked up a new phone when I moved down here. Got a Samsung G9. Definitely different.
