A 4G modem that I can use with Verizon or AT&T with bridge mode / pass through AND a wired ethernet port so I can plug a firewall into and use it for a small remote network.

Any recommendations would be appreciated, thank you.

You can't use any retail modem. Need to go with a commercial solution like Cradlepoint which uses the SIMM but is not locked into the ISP routing.

The Huawei 4G routers – e.g., B525 and B618 – have the capability of bridge mode. Remember that most cell connections are behind CG-NAT, so you'll need a reverse tunnel for remote inbound.

No idea about availability in the US, nor compatibility with US frequencies. Over here, performance is very good – with no or very low 4G reception on a phone, these can have a good signal level, even with the internal antennae.

For cradle point, can anyone tell me how the package works with a carrier such as Verizon?

I read these carriers no longer offer unlimited data plans so how does work with a cradlepoint firewall?

I would assume you pay for data usage just like any other device.

Usually a 3G/4G connection is used as a backup not a primary so data usage is limited, however when it is needed it's often to keep a business operational thus the added data cost vs people not being able to work is not such a big deal
