Can any pre made cables be re-terminated?

Does anyone know a specific brand of cable that has the stiff wires capable of being reterminated with a new connector? Or are they all the flexible wires?

Most premade cables are stranded (flexible) rather than solid core.

You can get RJ45s suitable for either or both - based on http://www.ebay.com/gds/Solid-vs-Stranded-Network-Cabling-Which-to-choose-/10000000002065324/g.html the difference in the plug is whether it's 2-prong or 3-prong.

Just get ends that work with stranded....you can get ends that work with both.

I haven't seen shorter solid cable...haven't looked either, generally you want flexible cable for patch cables.
You can purchase pre made solid cables in longer lengths..generally above 100> in length.

What is the use case for this? If it's just a standard patch cable typically replacing it is faster and less expensive.

I can pickup 3' cat5e patch cables for under $1 each at my local electronics supply. No need to waste time doing a reterm.
