Acer laptops (The cheep ones.) are like a gateway drug for us... People buy the computer... use it... get it infected... try to clean it themself. Decide that they just bought it so they bring it in to get all fixed up.
Usually the people buying the $249 laptop don't buy AVAS or put any protection on so it is just a matter of time. They usually decide on a full restore because it is cheeper and away we go for an easy profit. Don't let the cost of the equipment get you down.
Odd as it may sound, we decieded to start doing mobile repairs, instead of having a store front as of Nov. 1st.
I guess we will have to see how it goes.

I just ended up doing the same thing. I started the business from home, moved to a store, and now back at home (same date as you actually). In the end it didn't hurt us that bad. It is actually nice to have the extra money around.
Im glad to hear that, I was a little worried about moving the business back to the home but... what can you do when you need to save more money. I chose this due to the fact I did not want to charge my clients more money just to keep my store front.
Things were kinda spooky this spring and part of the summer but its really picked up in the past couple of months. So far today we got a virus infected laptop and one with a cracked lcd. Also got a call for some SEO work and that's a go so thats another couple hundred. Its only 1pm here so we still could see more work before the day is over.
Business has been great this month. It's been about 20 new customers thus far. I'm really struggling with the fact of having to hire someone else(any advice on that would be nice). It would be my first hire. Really in need of one though.
