Business Cards Critique

Hello All,

I'm getting my new business cards made and wanted to see what the community had to say and hopefully some constructive criticism on possible changes.

Main questions:
1.) Can anyone advise on what i should be putting under my name on the front of the card(Owner/Operator, CEO, Executive IT Consultant, Owner.....)?

2.) What kinda catchy words should i put on the back where the my services would be. Im approaching mostly business, but need to grow my client base as well.(Network, Servers, Disaster Recovery,Virus Removes, Data Back Up)?

Thanks every one, your input is greatly appreciated and any advise would help!

I think putting any TLA's looks "Cocky" for lack of better word. Unless it's a huge corporation. Agent Booth is the only one that can pull that off. Personally, I like "Chief Enthusiast".

I'd highly recommend putting some blank lines on the back to write notes. You or recipient of the card. Make it useful. That also means no gloss on the back and limited to lighter colors. My 2 cents.

Where are you going to get these printed? Curious as to quality as I'll be getting some done myself shortly.

I left my back blank except for some lines. Made sure the spacing is enough to allow hand writing. Not only have I used them to make some notes for the customer but I've also seen some customers use them as well. As far as titles, none for me. Generally the card design at the left looks nice.

I agree with Mark, no title and leave the back blank. I use Vistaprint. They also offer other a slew of other logo'd items at reasonable prices. We've even used them for magnetic door signs. We use the online paint chip of the car we are using as the background for the door sign. Combined with cutting the finished sign around the logo and they look like a custom paint job, not a door sign.

Whatever you decide on always make sure to see what it looks like with your choice text before making a decision. Font art is a sensitive thing and what looks good with some text may not look good with another text even if its the same font.

I've used Vistaprint in the past but I think for my next set I'm going to try someplace with some heavier stocks and maybe rounded corners. I'm also thinking about a dot grid on the back instead of just lines.

The cards look like they were done on Fiverr. Nice choice. I like the colors. When it comes to the title, I remember someone using Lead Technician. I really liked that one and I ended up putting it on my card. I have my services offered on the back of my card.

I have used Vista Print and Gotprint.net not bad places, just not crazy. I ended up finding a place not too far from my home with excellent reviews. I ordered online through them and the cards were excellent. 16 Point Matte is what I always go with.

wwww.miamiprinting.com is the place. They have 2 day turn around.

Im actually getting them from a Chris he's a member of the forums here he goes by, SprinterTech-WI
shoot him a PM, he has great prices and I've used him in the past.

I have used gotprint.com a couple of times and some of the best quality and very inexpensive. Much better than Vistaprint and lower prices. Also request their free marketing sample kit and you will be blown away!

I like zazzle.com for my cards. They can actually print a black background. Other places was a greyish, brownish, somewhat close to black. I'll have to check out gotprint.com.

I used them a couple times with no issues and their sample kit was a plus, but then I had another issue where I ordered a stack of business cards and 1/3 them came out faded. Contacted them to resolve it and they gave me the run around. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle for the price I paid.

1. If you're a sole proprietor, I wouldn't use a title unless it was catchy/comical. Being a one-man-band and putting CEO under your name means nothing.

2. I've seen this go many different ways: list services from most to least popular, highest to least revenue, etc. If I were you I'd list what I wanted to grow first.

On a side note, I've used Moo, and they have what I would consider the highest quality, but also some high prices. I switched over to VistaPrint when they introduced their thicker cards and I was happy with them and stayed.

Hello again everyone,

I have got what i think the finial draft will look like, let me know what y'all think!

Should i keep the logo on the back? I think there is sufficient white space on the back that will allow for jotting down notes.

Thanks!

I don't like the uppercase C in your email address. I'd say try everything caps but pretty sure that would put the URL into the gray swirl so i'd suggest changing the C in your email address to lower case then post it again.
