I have come up with a company name and have created a business card design that I think is pretty good. Im just looking for some critiquing and constructive criticism. :)

The idea here is that anyone with a smart phone, and a QR reader app, can scan the QR code and be brought to the site. Once at the site, the user will have the ability to schedule service, in addition to other options. If the person doesn't have those things, then they can just type the address. I have a small list of services that I will provide, but I am wondering if maybe on the back side of the card, if I should have a full, or more complete list of my services to not leave the potential client thinking "I wonder if he can...". Not wanting to make it overwhelming, just want to be clear on the services.

I have also thought about creating some kind of flyer. Not sure if I will do that or not. For those of you who were starting from scratch, what types of marketing material dod you get together so that you could get your name out there? What media or methods have worked for you?

The whole QR thing is a marketing success but an operational failure as far as I'm concerned. I've literally never heard of anyone I know using those QR codes. See them all of the time in public areas and have never seen anyone using their smart phones to scan them.

On your card. I'm guessing the blurred out area is the phone. How about an email address as well? Have you thought of doing anything on the back of the card?

Thanks for your input on the QR code deal. I to am seeing it everywhere and few using them. I do from time to time, but I think it's flaw is that people see it and go "WTH is that?" and don't know how to use it. Perhaps there could be some opportunity to get people to use it? But maybe if there's nothing else of value to go on the card, it can use up the space and look cool and be functional for those who know how to use it already? lol

As for the back of the card, I had mentioned in the post..."I have a small list of services that I will provide, but I am wondering if maybe on the back side of the card, if I should have a full, or more complete list of my services to not leave the potential client thinking "I wonder if he can...". Not wanting to make it overwhelming, just want to be clear on the services." :)

If not that, any ideas what I should do with the back side?

LOL!!! Dang, no sure why that did not register. What I decided to do on the back of my card is to put my logo and then several spaced lines below it. The idea being that it would cue the receiver to write something down to jog their memory. I'll always offer them my pen to use to make notes to facilitate the process.

I agree the QR code is a waste of space. Most people don't know what managed services is. I call it Remote Monitoring and Management. I am going to be working on a new website, business and brochure first of the year also and want to change the terminology to be more friendlier.

Personally I don't think you should list any of your services on the business card. Instead you should list the benefits of working with you "Personal, Reliable, Affordable Technology Solutions" or "Small Business Computer Services" or "Your one-stop-shop for computer repair and support".

Also, I'm more in favor of putting your picture on the business card in the place of that QR code. A business card acts as a supplement to meeting someone in person. You shake their hand, talk about their needs, and then hand them a card and ask them to reach out to you. When they see the card in the future, they see your face, your name, and your benefit statement and make the connection that you're the nice helpful guy they met earlier that they need to call. EVERY time I get a business card with a picture on it I'm drawn to it and I remember that person more than any other that I may have met at the time.
