I have a computer that keeps booting , Customer said he was trying to install XP upgrade from 2000.
Computer keeps going into loop boot . how ever on the Bios menu i saw Cell Menu which make me believe that this computer is over clocked (to be honest I have never worked on an over clocked PC).

When I tried to boot from win2000 cd, I got the blue screen of death "CAN'T_ACCESS_BOOTABLE_DEVICE"

any suggestions.

Try turning off auto restart in safe mode.
Yeah i actually disabled that , and the rapidly boot stops but when i go to safe mode i get a message saying that the computer can't run in safe mode. i am thinking it might be a virus at boot sector?!

How far along is the boot process when it loops? The reason I'm asking is, a while back there were certain things that Ad-Aware and Spybot 'fixed' that actually botched up a registry entry for userinit, and this can be pretty easily fixed with ERD Commander and the like.

If you suspect it is overclocked (which can cause drive boot problems), clear the CMOS to put it back to factory settings. Then try fixmbr or chkdsk as mentioned above.

Make sure it is at stock settings or stable before going any farther.
