Blue screen virtual pc image of computer

I understand why this is happening but wondering if there is a way to fix it.

Took a vhd of a older dell pc with windows vista.

Loaded hyperv onto windows 8
Created a virtual machine
Used the vhd as the drive
Booted and got the bunch of 000 7b error

I am guessing this is because the virtual box does not have the same hardware as the original machine.

What do I do to fix this?
I think maybe doing a windows repair would do the trick but not sure.

Little more info blue screen happens iastore.sys

Virtual pc only has IDE drives and the harddrive was Sata. I don't see an option in hyperv to add Sata as a drive. Totally lost here.

what hyper visor are you using? your post isnt really clear.

I believe its to do with AHCI and you need to either turn it off or on, im not sure.

Try vmware player or oracle virtual box and look for the ahci setting.

If the blue screen is related to the IDE controller, perhaps my FixIDE would resolve it.
