Also, (not that I use it, but I did just discover thanks to this thread that) the obi100 can in fact do E911 via a sipgate #, just not via a GV# as I have - though it can accommodate both #'s simultaneously if you chose to set it up that way. Maybe not the best setup for someone's mom, but it's a cheaper alternative is all I'm saying. Of course most anything beats the OP's Verizon option experience though!

I have heard of Obi recently but at the time of the Ooma purchase Obi was not around. I wanted a service that was cheap and functioned plug and play and no issues international.

I have a good friend who has been struggling since the recession. He would love the Obi and I might get it for him for Christmas.

I do not use D7 but a co worker raves about your product. And from what I can gather looks like you have created a product with passion that everyone loves and does an excellent job.
