Best Screen Recording Software with Audio

A client of mine wants to create a video for his employees to be able to watch. Basically his screen with a powerpoint demo and his voice.

Any suggestions?

Is there a freeware alternative? He is only going to make 1 video, and I am not sure he wants to spend the $100 on camtasia.

I have used camstudio in the past it is pretty basic but it did the job

Only screen recorder I've ever used was FRAPS (gaming use).
