I've used Mint LInux as a rescue os especially when Windows won't boot. I'd like to know what other folks are using these days. I've tried HIren's and UBCD.

Does Hiren's still have that problem? I know older versions of it were basically nothing but pirated junk, but I thought at some point it got cleaned up.

I tried Hiren's some years ago but I didn't find it useful for the reason of the unlicensed software. For the most part over the years I've used Bart's, Mint, Knoppix and Slax linux live CDs and Windows PE. For the most part what i did was rescue files for people.

Gandalf's newest one is donationware so I read somewhere. You have to pay to get the link .
