Out of pure curiosity more details of those reports would be interesting....due to my interests in the human mind and personality and causes of behavior, not because I believe in a political sway. I love find out what makes people tick.

With the limited details of the report just from the brief article though, I generally leaned conservative in my past...yes I can stare at mutilated images..heck..in real life...of animals or a human body, ones that would make 99% of people gag. Doesn't bother me. Wonder what their reports on "sex" tried to claim. LOL...I've sure pushed that envelope in my lifetime.

So shutting down the part of the brain used for detecting and solving problems produces liberals. Very interesting.

When I was young and in school, they used to give us occasional IQ test. My inferior conservative brain always scored right at or within a point or two of 140. And more recently Mensa said I scored in the top 1% of the US population. So I was wondering what the superior brains of liberals typically score? They gotta be up in the stratosphere somewhere!
 
With such a high IQ, I would have believed you would have been able to extrapolate the meaning of the study.

The point of the study, to me, is that the (for example) religious belief system and our "learned" animosity towards others is nothing but a construct of the primitive mind. This would go far to disprove the theory of a "soul" or something higher in power, rather, it's just brain.

The posterior medial frontal cortex acts as a Post-processor of sorts which can alter your perception as well as motor and thought processes... basically, turning off the pMFC turns off "choice-induced preferences" and instead uses simply the unprocessed logic from the neocortex... in OTHER words.. if your neocortex says "There is no god because I have no evidence" the brain will wash that logic through the pMFC and whatever you have "learned" becomes logical - regardless of whether it is or not.

And really, don't put too much stock in the tabloid "Daily Mail". It was Hitlers mouthpiece and the original owner of Daily Mail was good friends with Hitler. My favorites from Daily mail would have to include, "Woman, 63, 'becomes pregnant in the mouth' with baby squid after eating calamari" and "Big Headed babies 'more prone to cancer'". Don't forget "Women become good cooks at the age of 55 - that is when they can cook a roast, rescue a meal... and finally boil an egg!" - but believe what you want, it is clear your pMFC is fully active.

I am not really even talking about the "meaning" of the study. I am talking more about the method and what was done to reach the end result of the "liberal attitudes". What is interesting is the method of shutting down brain functions to get to a brain that functions more along the line of liberal thinking. This would suggest liberals can be created from damaged conservative brains.

Since we already established liberal brains are far superior, in my simpleton mind you would expect the opposite result. That is that the results of a brain with reduced/shutdown functions in problem solving areas would produce an individual with greater fear of God and even more conservative like thoughts. Not the other way around.
 
Why are you asking me? Go read the study.

They are not "damaged brains". The magnets only work while they are on and targeted, during the study... after, it turns back on, lol! The pMFC is considered a "leftover" of the brain.. a part of the body that was once important for social structure and reasoning with the unknown - AKA imagination would be the product of the pFMC distorting reality = not truth/factual. There are many parts of the body that are unused at this point in time that once had an important use that are archaic now.. the pFMC is considered one of those.

This study would seem to conclude that without the pFMC your brain would be more logical and less mythical and biased. Your "worldview" would cease and facts would rule.

Religious belief system just a learned thing huh? Not quite. But you go on thinking whatever it is you think. I can say personally, I have seen people healed. We once had a guy come to church, came twice on crutches. I'd been a member of the church for 10 or more years, In fact my grandparents were the pastor and pastor's wife at the time. This man came in, busted knee doctors had told him you need surgery etc. Guy came one night, thought we were crazy and said to himself at the time he was not coming back. What happened was he for whatever reason did come back the next night(we were having revival services), went through service, normal service. He gets through service, and we had a dinner after the service that night as a fundraiser for the youth group.

He and his girlfriend came to that, and the evangelist felt to pray for him, the guy walked out after the dinner and they were carrying the crutches he'd used to walk in.

I know for myself, when I was young, I always had asthma really bad. Every winter I would have asthma attacks really bad, I was actually the kid when I was a baby they had to put me in an oxygen tent in the hospital. In fact, when I was 15 I was hospitalized for about 3 days and nearly died due to getting pneumonia because of it. Got out of the hospital, had to have a nebulizer machine that I would have to mix medicine in if I was having trouble, basically steriods I guess to keep me going. Had this until 20-21. One night at a campmeeting church service, the minister asked us all to pray for something we wanted and to believe God. I prayed for healing for asthma. You can think whatever you want, but I did that, and I have never once had any trouble with that again in my life. I ended up throwing the machine away because it was sitting unused and all the medicine was expired.

Suffice to say I turn 35 this year and since about the year 2002-2003, I have had no need for any asthma medication whatsoever and haven't had to take inhalers for that etc. I'm just relating what happened to me personally. Seems like a lot for something just dreamed up.

But yeah, go ahead and think God and religion are just dreamed up. Keep dreaming and telling yourself that.

I will say also, I'd rather have Bernie in there than Hillary, but not seeing that.

Omnipotent? I'm sorry, who made all of these ailments in the first place? I doubt it would be OK for me to go to someones computer and give them a Virus and then turn around and be the savior, getting paid... unless I'm missing something.

I don't normally get involved in this political bullsh-t, but Hillary Clinton is going to be our next President.

Just so you know, I have NEVER voted once in my 54 years of walking around on this planet and I am not a registered voter and I never give a f-ck who is in the White House because it NEVER had any impact on me. But that 68 year old, democrat woman will be the next President of the United States

Deal with it, or move to another country ......
