Local area has had some pretty nasty thunderstorms the last week. Had a client that had a lightning strike right outside her house, and had power go out. A couple days later she calls me with her pc won't boot past Acer splash.
Here is what I have done:
Opened case, tested PSU: Good
Checked all capacitors: Appear good (no swollen caps, leaks)
RAM: removed, powered with one stick in each slot: Still Acer screen
Removed CMOS battery: Issue remains
This will not load boot menu, nor load into HDD or a boot CD as first device.
BIOS recognizes HDD and DVD/RW.
Any advice as a further test, or am I correct in calculating bad board?
