AVI/MPEG to DVD

Hey guys

I have a mate who has a MAC ( to which i have no experience with ) and hes asking me about a program/software that will copy his downloaded movie so that he can watch in on a DVD player ?

Does anyone have any good software to recommend? Preferably freeware..

If he has iDVD, that should do the trick.
