I'll be going out to a clients house to help fix a problem with the att&t dsl internet connection. The problem is that the client can log into the internet but can't log into the email acount. It just says this page cannot be displayed when trying to log in. The computer was taken back to a friends house and hooked up via high speed cable connection and everything works fine... He can login with no issues at all. Have any of you ran into this issue before? Just trying to see what troubleshooting procedures I should perform as it seems really odd that it would work fine for the high speed cable and not the dsl connection.

Is it webmail? Give a little more info
I know ATT blocks most SMTP traffic, and you have to log into their crappy Yahoo mail interface and add external e-mail accounts to send as them.

I believe it to be at&t yahoo mail and I don't really have that much info to go on myself. I was called by a fellow tech and he wanted to see if I could help him out tomorrow and that he would call when he wanted me to meet up with the client. I was busy at the time and he just gave me a basic overview of the problem.

If it is not an AT&T account, and they are trying to send SMTP traffic, AT&T blocks SMTP traffic that is not from an AT&T domain. If this is the case, you need to call AT&T and fill out a form to allow SMTP traffic from a non AT&T domain.
