Are you a "Gamer?"

Anyone play Red Dead: Redemption? It is an old one, indeed. But I really love it and still enter in that world sometime now.
I have a friend playing RDR2. It's a fun game and she streams gameplay so I can watch.
She plays story mode mostly as the online game is very meh with very little to do.

Yesss. I only play story mode too. In addition to the main story, I also love to uncover hidden stories and puzzles. It is really an attractive game with soooo many details that players need to find out.

RD2 is great, shame once I completed it; lots of hours though. Never really got into online, just played poker.
I just want to go into it and kill Dutch for 3000 times for my poor Arthur once I completed it.😢

Ill need some new game recommendations soon. Almost done building new system with Ryzen 5900X and Radeon 6800XT. Just need to get some water-cooling fittings to build my loop and its done.

Fortnite (for now) has removed building from the game. A lot of casual players have been turned off by the game because the skill it takes to build in the game has made it hard to enjoy and compete against the skilled builders.

@Blues for PC gaming I've always like 1st or 3rd person shooters. On consoles I've always preferred action adventure and RPGs. I really havent played many modern games in the last few years because my current vid card has issues crashing my system. I need to underclock it for it to be more stable but even then it has issues. Just been so busy with other stuff I never bothered to get it in order.

First game I'll probably try playing on my new rig will be Elden Ring but really open to anything that has a good story, and has good multiplayer coop.

FPS is the only way to go.
I love to "run and gun" and blow **** up.
"Words dont kill aliens...big guns do!" (From the movie Aliens.)
Story mode is for sissies.
If you're not charging and mauling just go home...😄

I have been playing American Truck Simulator of late using VR. Is great, has in game audio from internet radio stations to cruise along to.
Cool gameplay and online as well - though for the moment I am just in SP, Honk Honk!

FPS am playing ARMA3 still and also Insurgency Sandstorm & Hell Let's Loose.

I spent 22 years in a B-Double hauling fuel all over NSW and QLD.
It was one of the best times of my life but playing it in VR? Hell no! 🤣

Edit to add a couple of my favourite songs from my driving days....

I am mostly an RPG person myself only a handful of 1st person or 3rd person shooters get my attention. I will say PC does have some solid RPGs at the moment not sure the hardware requirements as I know mine plays them fine but Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity, & The Witcher games have been pretty fun for me. I did play Warframe on PC for a while it is a sword and guns space shooter game but the mechanics of earning things got nerfed for me and many resources started having specific means to get them and many of those means were not fun for me.

Resurrecting this old thread.

After 16 months of a Cyberpunk hiatus, my friend re-downloaded Cyberpunk. After all the hyperbole about fixes and updates she decided to give it another go.
She also bought the DLC.

10 mins into a new game Jackie is sitting on an invisible motorcycle, Dexter DeShawns head is missing, cars fall out of the sky, people appear randomly, screen goes black during a fight scene but the HUD and all its info is still clearly visible.....
There were many other small things but it's expected in Cyberpunk 2077.

On the plus side the DLC is great! Still some glitches but generally ok. They really improved the in game driving too.
Works much better.
The graphics are really improved as well, clearer, more detailed and prettier all round.

I'm currently playing Vladik Brutal. It's very much like Half Life and the story line kinda closely follows Half Life as well.
It's a fun game, lots of enemies that aren't too hard to kill, great weapons that you pick up as you go, starting with the ubiquitous crowbar from Half Life.
This game also reminds me of Left4Dead custom maps.

Some minor annoyances though:

It's from a Russian Developer so consequently it's in Russian but has English subtitles.

There is no weapon selection from the mouse wheel. I'm accustomed to FPS's giving the option to select next weapon/last weapon from the wheel.

And the damn torch! You have to keep turning the torch on because it keeps turning itself off every minute or so.
Always seems to turn off at the wrong time.

There is no HUD either, so you have no idea of direction, how much ammo remains, what weapons or incendiaries are available etc.
To find out this info you have to press "Q" which brings up a weapon/item selector.

During heavy combat scenarios it's cumbersome to use. When you suddenly run out of ammo and you need to select another weapon it takes precious seconds to press "Q" and try to see what gun has ammo.

Overall it's a fun game with very few glitches.

Never had any issues with Cyberpunk, even on release. Was a great game and the DLC was an added icing to the cake.
Currently I am mainly playing SCUM, DayZ, Mass Effect Legendary Ed & Subnautica.

Never heard about "Vladik Brutal" may check it out, though am awaiting S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2.

Only released on August 10, so very new. I think you'd enjoy it if you like Half Life etc.

I already own S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call Of Pripyat, Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky.

I played about 5 mins of Call Of Pripyat and got so nauseous that I couldn't continue.

Looks great, used to make maps and mods for HL2 and CSS.
