Any issues using UBCD4WIN on Vista Machines?

Has anybody come across any bugs/issues when using the tools on the UBCD4WIN disc on a Vista installation?

I know it was built mainly for XP, but the site says it can also work on a Vista machine...but I would like to know if anybody has experience with this.

Depends on what you're trying to achieve, UBCDWIN is essentially an X86 boot environment built upon an XP kernel, some of the tools are XP specific, but as a whole it can be useful to work on XP, Vista & Win 7 machines amongst others.

I'm mainly thinking of malware removal tools like ezpcfix, etc. But also the registry editing tools. Thanks for all your help so far guys.

When you use the ISO builder for UBCD4WIN don't you have to provide an OS disk? I think I have always used XP for this but perhaps if you tried it with Vista maybe it would work better with the apps you are having problems with.

Using a Vista boot kernel won't make any difference, it's the tools on the disk that are pertinent. XP & Vista both use NTFS 5, so there'll be little to differentiate between them in a pre-boot environment.

UBCD4WIN itself should work, things like... password changers for example have probably been designed for XP. It's really a matter of hardware support, it's very fussy on soem machines.
