Adwords tips..?

I would be carefully setting your cost per click to auto. I typically pay 3-4 dollars a click, but there is a lot of competition in my area.

Can any of you give me a ball park range price on what I should be expecting to pay if I start doing adwords? Not just a per click cost, but an overal?

Thanks!

An adword advert is what you see when you do a Google search and appear in the sponsored links area at the top and down the right hand side of a search results page. So yes you need webpage these adverts link too.

You can also have adverts appear on other website in the adwords content network but again these need to click through to a website.

Ok kool well I am just now getting around to putting a website together. I purchased my domain name yesterday.

I purchased my domain name from Godaddy.com, and I thought Danica Patrick was supposed to knock my door down as soon as I clicked "Purchased"? Well I am still waiting on that.. lol

There are few very important things you need to do for your account.

- Setup your negative keywords or you will waste your money
- Don't do broad keywords
- Test keywords in keyword tools to make sure what is best and gets more search
- Make sure your ad section has the important keywords in the title. First line especially
- Always create two ads for each ad group and let them run side by side for a month. Whichever gets more click, keep that loose the other one and make another one to beat the good one for another month. So on and so forth
- Don't try to be number one on search results
- Make sure each web page has the keywords that you are using in your ad
- Create different landing pages for each ad group if you have multiple ones. For example, one for computer repair, one for laptop repair, etc...

Very good tips IAMPC, +1 reputation.

It never occurred to me to create two ads in the same ad group & pit them against one another. I'm going to give that a try.
