Adobe Issue...

Have a customer's computer that was full of virus' and is now clean with the exception of one error.

Everytime I try to open a .pdf file or adobe reader XI(11.0.02) it throws an error that asks if I want to open with protected mode disabled. I f choose no, it just closes and never opens a pdf file.

If I choose yes, it throws "Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and had no luck.

Any ideas?

yeah, unfortunately with the same result.
Argh! Driving me nuts!!!

Does anyone think installing a previous version of Reader will solve it?

Adobe reader 9 will probably work, but not sure if installing that then installing the new version will fix the problem.

Tried uninstalling and using 9, but same error gets thrown
It's a Win 7 64bit machine with 4gb ram

im not as a computer with reader so im just guessing blindly here. Did you try to run as administrator? Reader also uses vc++ run time libraries right? I wonder if reinstalling those would resolve that issue.
