I have here an Acer V5-531 laptop.
The original problem was a flickering display.
After disassembly it seemed that the flickering changed (but not disappeared) when the LCD cable was moved so I decided to replace the cable.
Now the flickering has gone but the display is still not right, looking as if the settings are incorrect.
(see picture)
The old cable is p/n 50.4VM06.011. I found a cable on eBay 50.4VM06.002 which according to
http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/235-124527-31728/Acer-Aspire-V5-531G-Series-LCD-Cable-15-.html
is a compatible cable.
My question is, was I right to use this cable, or is it more likely that there is a fault (possibly new fault) in the panel?
