Hi

Has anyone ever replaced an Acer Aspire A515-51G-34JD Keyboard. I received this computer today and the keyboard does not work after a glass of wine was spilt onto it.

I have stripped down the laptop however the keyboard is completly riveted to the casing with plastic connectors, no screws at all.

I cannot find a keyboard replacement video for this model

It's a frameless one. I replaced a similar one once with another from Ebay. A bit More hassle than a standard keyboard, but it should come apart from the palmrest if you pop the plastic rivets. See this for the general idea:

We don't take time on the rivets.
Embedded keyboards like that get the entire top shell with keyboard replaced. We don't bother to separate them.

It'll cost more for the part, but simplifies the install.
Depends on how you bill it. From our perspective it would cost the customer more to remove the embedded keyboard because of charging more for the labor involved.

Hi everyone, Many thanks for your feedback. We have decided to try and send this one back to Acer France and ask them to give us a quote to repair the unit. I have not been able to find a complete replacement for the whole palmrest and keyboard. Too much effort to try and cut away all the plastic rivets and then as mikeroq has said I have the issue of trying to resecure the unit.
