[TIP] "A program is trying to send an e-mail message on your behalf" warning in Outlook

Sometimes it's amazing what Google FU can do for you when you know how to read through the BS.

Had a client call in because when they tried to send their bills through sitelink, Outlook prompted with a message warning that a program was trying to send an email - allow or deny. No big deal unless you're clicking that 800 times for 800 emails ...

Figured out eventually that the following was missing from Registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\16\Outlook\Security

DWORD - ObjectModelGuard

Created key, set to 0. BOOM.

Here's a link to the article if you have something that isn't Office 16 or if you're not using the same bit version (x32 vs x64) as your OS.

Guaranteed the client wouldn't have been able to follow those instructions, even if they had found then, and a good reminder to them why they pay us every month for support.
