A couple of Q's for UK Techs

Has anyone heard of or signed up to 'edFirst' , it's a school procurement website, kind of like a yellow pages for schools? As it is tenders and offers for work, would a local individual tech lose out to a national company in the process, or would it be too much for an individual?

Thats just the first part of my Q's, my second is this: I have joined the FSB, (the benefits to joining are great), but does anyone go to the networking meetings? do they produce many leads?

First part, it's a scam basically. Don't even bother with this company. They used to be known as scemes. Which basically was a scheme.. Cost me a substantial amount of money with zero return.

Re fsb, I've been a member for 3 years, have not been to any networking meetings, so can't comment.

as above stay clear of edFirst

FSB, I was at a dinner on Friday which was organised by the FSB, it was a fundraiser for a local charity. I was seated on the tory party table and had a good night. I am currently hoping to join the local FSB committee this November.

Our FSB has a monthly networking lunch, very informal and good way to meet local businesses. They also do formal evens like last Friday and their AGM in November.

Thanks all for the replies and pm's,

all saying the same - stay away!

They phoned today and i turned them down, after a brief conversation which really set alarm bells ringing...i ask for list of schools they have, give them my postcode and, after a brief wait, they list the 5 nearest schools to me - none of which have heard or use edfirst!

Thanks all
