Iphone to Android data transfer

My daughter just gave me her not-so-old Samsung S9 I have been wanting to ditch my iPhone 6 for some time but it always works and reliably always had iPhones
I googled how to import data and got so many different ways I don't want to mess with Itunes if I can help it trying to get away from Apple, what's the best way to get my data across without spending money as you can see I am cheap

What data are you wanting to actually migrate and what data do you need to just simply backup? This is kind of like migrating from Windows to Mac it will be a more manual and selective process.

Use Samsung Smart Switch. That should transfer most everything, if not everything.

This and it's usually already preinstalled on the phone. Factory reset the phone and then it should come up during the first time setup OOBE.

Not sure if the S9 came with, but it can be downloaded for sure.

I haven't had this request in so long I didn't know Samsung had their own app that is nice as last I was digging most the 3rd party apps on the web had such mixed reviews and concerning issues where iOS updates would break their function.

Thanks, I hate the lightning cable will get a new one then it should work have copied pics in file explorer many times
its the contacts I mainly want

It was easier than expected went to icloud on PC exported contacts to Vcard imported into phone same with pictures from iCloud
