Xp pro repair install?? CD??

Hey guys

Got a funny one, I have xp pro on a machine and need to do a repair install. None of the xp CDs I have is working, anyone know of any other ways to replace system files without being able to get into safe mode or with a cd....

It had a boot device bsod, scan disk did some major fixes, normally I would just repair install.

Any ideas would be good

So you ran scan disk which has corrected some major errors?

Have you run any diagnostics on the hard disk, or at least checked it with a SMART utility, sounds to me like it is failing and should be replaced.

I would use Crystal disk to check the SMART status, but I would also download the hard disk manufacturers diagnostic utility and run a full scan. Failing that you could run MHDD or HDTune.

mmm...Seems like corrupted partition/files...Do a complete chkdsk /f on that drive...or a total chkdsk /f /r if you suspect bad "sectors" as well...
