Well after some talk in the forum today about parking lot fliers and talking to a very good friend of mine thats also in the computer business in a different city I have decided that I am going to give it a try and see what comes out of it.

I don't want to use a full size flier because wind and etc. so I designed a half flier that I am going to have printed in black and white. My printing guy quoted my $15 for 400 copy's.

What do you guys think

Flyer looks good except for the Cyber in the bottom right that keeps pulling my eyes from the font inside the oval ... let us know how you fare with the parking lot adventure.

Ugh, I hate companies that put crap on my windshield. Nothing wrong with your design, I just hate the idea.

If you do it, make sure you carefully read any posted signs where you hand them out to make sure you're not breaking any laws/regulations. Last thing you want are a bunch of fines.

I typically don't like it ether. However, I see it done all the time. Now that I am a business owner I kind of understand it better. Its tough getting the word out to residential customers. Businesses are easy you just walk in introduce yourself and hand them a flier. I have done well with that.

We will see how it goes. I may start tomorrow, it depends on how fast I can get the fliers back from my printing guy. I am going to drop the graphic off in the morning. I have a full day scheduled on Wednesday so if I don't get to it tomorrow I will pass them out on Thursday.

I have a good feeling about this, I think it will work out well.

Be discrete if you do this on any chain-stores like Best Buy, etc, since they have signs in most place prohibiting soliciting. If you do this perhaps you could offer a special for those who consider using GS, etc.

I would consider handing out the fliers to people coming out of the stores in the parking lot, rather than putting them on windshields. That way people can "opt-out" and you limit the chance of getting flak later.

You know I almost wish there was a best buy here. I would walk though the store and pass them out if there was. I would even give the GS guys my card. You know just in case they could not figure something out, lol.

I'm am not against handing them out to people leaving stores but if I just put them on windshields I can cover a bigger area quicker.

I figure to that if anyone calls to complain I will offer then an hours free labor to make up for the inconvenience. Hey that way I get a lead ether way.

You know after doing some research I don't know if I am going to do the windshield fliers. Public opinion of them isn't very good and I don't know if I want the first impression of my business to be bad in a potential customers eyes.

I think I may try handing fliers out to people leavings stores instead.

If the printing is going to be black and white, I'd advise converting the design to black and white rather than the color one displayed. Some parts such as the light blue or green text or the stylized text for the company name in the lower right may not show up so well. You may want to use italics, bolding or alternate fonts instead for emphasis.

As to the copy, it seems decent overall. I might reconsider using the term "mild" with business systems as it's actually kind of negative, as it connotes slowness or weakness. I'd say "reliable" instead. "Advanced" is also kind of weak. "Killer" or "Powerhouse" would be more effective.

Does "Mobile Computer Repair" mean "We come to you"? If so, you may want to just say that explicitly as a subtitle to the headline. Believe it or not, some people will think you only repair mobile computers if you don't get specific.

You know I never thought about that. I use to say on-site computer repair but I changed it because I didn't want customers to think it was at My-Site. I wonder what term can be quick and easy to say without making a paragraph out of it.

And if you DO repair "mobile computers" (laptops), say so explicitly. "Computer repair" does not equal "laptop repair" in many people's minds.

I have updated that line to say Desktop and Laptop repair but the graphic is not updated.
