I have a client that is starting to have issues with Windows Live Mail. They have been using WLM for years and I told them that it is probably time to move away from WLM as it is a basic junky mail client that is meant for basic home users, not business.
When I go to export the messages into Outlook 2007, the export process hangs. Upon further investigation, I've found that the export hangs on specific messages, and after locating the specific message I find the message gives "Message cannot be found - The contents of this message cannot be found" - the message is obviously corrupt.
After deleting the obviously corrupt email, the WLM export will move past whichever message caused it to hang, then just hangs on another message that gives the same "Message cannot be found - The contents of this message cannot be found".
I can't go through these one by one as they have thousands upon thousands of messages and folders.
I did resolve this issue with different client by taking the whole WLM message store, importing it into my computer then exporting it into a PST in my computer, then transferring the PST. The problem with this one is they have 30+ GB's of messages in WLM.
I'm going to try to make a new user profile, then import all of the messages into the new user profile, then export it into a PST, it seems to be the same process as I did to fix the other clients export but I won't have to transfer all that data.
Any ideas?
