Hello,

This is mainly for the computer I just build for myself. Not sure if anyone else has seen this with Win 7 64bit. It usually pops up when I'm playing Battlefield Bad company 2.

Here are my specs.

- Win 7 Home Pre 64bit
- 6GB DDR3 RAM
- AMD Phenom II X4 3.40GHz
- ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series (I have the latest drivers)
- 1TB 32MB Cach HDD

Any ideas?

try turning off your wallpaper...i know all the HD pictures are pretty, but just try that first and see.

i'm all-time playing BFBC2 also. i'm LOANER on there also. i usually play on the "section 8 crew" server. may catch you on sometime.

...goss

I try to remind myself that we are all supposedly computer technicians on this forum, so I am going to give you the benefit of my doubt this once.

Please specify in your post what you have done so far to try and diagnose the above problem?

I doubt very much it is the wallpaper affecting it, but then again, loaner maybe a far better technician than me and may have hit the nail right on it's head!

respectfully,

not alot on this subject.

it's probably kicking you back to the "BASIC THEME". try setting it back to the "CLASSIC THEME" setting. turn off aero by setting your system for best performance instead of quality. you could also go back to a previously "proven" more stable video driver instead of the lastest driver you have.

that's all i have for now

not sure it that is hitting the nail on the head, but i've been hammering on it anyway..;)

OK first I have to open with he's playing Battlefield Bad company 2.

Has anyone bothered to look at the system requirements for that game. Trust me its not the desktop background or windows aero that causing it.

It would be useful to know what has been done or have you done anything to resolve the problem.

Also what kind of motherboard are you using, and brands of other parts.

Anything from Frys?

Thanks for all the replies.

I don't have any wallpapers. It is a plain blue background in Win 7. I saw that issue on the forums about wallpaper but I don't have it. I updated again to the latest drivers for the video card. I tried to install .net framework 3.5 but I couldn't and I'm not sure if it is Win 7 issue or not. I have .net framework 2.0 right now which ATI Catalyst needs in order for the video card and drivers to work. That is about all that I tried.

I buy all my stuff from newegg.com. To be honest, the specs on this PC are pretty high. I use MSI motherboard.

- Mobo: MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
- Video: GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP
- Memory: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel
- PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire
- HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb

System specs don't seam bad at all. Normally I only use MSI boards for economy systems but in your case I don't see any problem.

Like "Peaceful" stated. Does your system run slow.

I just did a Google search and it seams like its a bug in Windows 7. Many people with even faster hardware then you are having the same problem.

Try to downgrade your video drivers and see if it still does it.

Sounds like a windows bug when the computer is under load with high end hardware. Or when the PC cannot change a theme or wallpaper on demand it assumes that the performance is slow.

I have to ask is there any actual problem other then the annoying warning itself? Does it perform fine? Does the warning take the game off the screen? Or is it a bubble?

Sounds like a bug when the PC has fast hardware or cannot change themes instantly. (an extended delay caused by a game for example) Try to ignore it. (enable classic view and disable themes)

Computer is never slow when in game. It runs smooth. I also think it is Win 7 bug. I crashes the game sometimes when that window pops up with the warning. Thank you for the feedback.
