hey id just like to know what the requirements are for windos 7 RTM?

where can i buy it from?

i build computers for friends and family on a resonably regular basis and it would be useful to have an rtm version to install on each of them.

thanks

Smokey

You can buy RTM in any store that sells Windows 7.

If you are building a PC, you can purchase OEM versions from Newegg and save some money.

but can u buy rtm thats got multiple if not unlimited licences? or are they all only single pc installations?

yeahhh thats what i want to know about lol now were getting somewhere :)

if i did that do u know if i have to be a registered company?

ye ye i know i just want to know more information about it it would just be a 1 time cost right? then you could install it on as many pc's as you want?

No, that's not how it works. For your situation you need to buy individual licenses, that's your best bet.

There is NO licensing solution that allows unlimited licenses of Windows. Each and every computer has to have its own license.

edit: by the way, you can not purchase RTM. That is a term "Release to Manufacturing" which is related to illegal downloads. There is only Retail or OEM.

Quit trying to break the law and go hang out somewhere else! If you want to run Windows7 on a PC, the least you could do is pay for it! $105 (NewEgg - Windows7 OEM Home Premium) is pretty cheap, considering all you get. Support for thousands of types of hardware, software, etc.

who sad anything about breaking the law?

i just wanted to know if you had to be a registered manufacturer to BUY the licencisng.

with "big box companies" when they make systems that dont come with the origonal disk do they use individual oem versuions or like a master rtm version?

i had no intention of downloading windows 7 as ive heard storys of component disableing or somthing.

Companies like Dell have a volume license deal so they can install the OS on a zillion machines. They pay big money for this though. Like mentioned before, for your current situation, buying individual licenses is your best bet. $105 at Newegg like someone mentioned is probably the best price you're going to find.

thankyou

dont see why some people have to be so bitch and not just answer questions.

sorry for being a bitch, but the way you worded your questions implied that you wanted to buy one copy and install it on however many machines.

exactly...

Dell and the big boys have an OEM license agreement, they make the install packages/images and pay alot lower licensing fee PER MACHINE. They still pay for each one!

Sorry if I offended you, but sounded like you were trying to bypass licensing.
