I have 3 customers that have this problem on amd systems have not seen it on any intel system i have sold.
Windows programs stop responding, i checked task manager windows cpu usage is low, i have even zeroed out the hard drive and loaded these systems from scratch and updated all the drivers.
I have done diagnostics ,ram tests and prime86 for days with nothing out of the ordinary and have changed the ram, tested the hard drive thing is if i don't do windows update it runs fine as soon as i update the problem crops up.
Thing is these customers want windows updated i guess i should try one update at a time and see at one point where this problem starts only thing though there are quite a few updates this might take a long time.
So basically all that is installed is windows 7 premium OEM and drivers once windows updates are installed then the problem crops up.

Must be an Windows Update v driver problem.
We have been there before. That's why I guessed NVidia, but it's not exclusive to them.

Not likely since they are A4 3400 systems from AMD.

What version AMD driver are you using? I have noticed some... unreliability shall we say, from 12.4. Might try 12.3 or lower...

And try turning off AMD PowerNow! in BIOS. Sometimes throttling will flake out programs, and that half a second stutter is annoying anyway...
