First of all I just want to add that I'm not asking for help but I'm letting everyone know what I found to work.
I had a client drop off a Lenovo laptop yesterday with a virus and shutting down issues. I cleared the virus easily and set out to fix the shutting down issue. The laptop would shut down then about 2 to 5 seconds later would reboot. So I tried every fix possible including disabling the fast boot up, I even upgraded the Intel Management Engine Interface and then downgraded the Intel Management Engine Interface and nothing worked. I did notice that the laptop would shut down properly if the power adapter was unplugged. I noticed in Device Manager that there was listed under Battery a Microsoft AC Adapter device so I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. Since doing that the system shuts down and stays shutdown go figure. Of all the Google searching I did nothing mentioned the driver for the AC adapter. So just thought I would pass this on in case someone else is pulling their hair out like I was.
